The Director of Market Development focuses on new business development. Oversees the implementation of development activities affecting Wholesale and Retail which include analysis of assets/divestitures, pursuing joint venture opportunities and recommending capital spending. Assists and advises the VP Marketing Support & Pricing in strategic initiatives to enhance the Retail business profitability such as the evaluation of Retail assets, Market Development Plans and Real Estate activities.
Formulates strategies, plans and solutions for the Retail and Wholesale business growth.
Performs analysis and research to assess the economic feasibility of existing and new Market Development (MD) transactions. Takes lead on joint venture activities.
Prepares financial models and economic evaluations for existing and new Market Development transactions.
Serves as Market Development representative on strategically oriented teams. Provides Market Development internal review/reporting.
Generates New Business Development projects. Collaborates with other departments, negotiates contracts to conclusion.
Education & Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in business administration or finance, or equivalent experience in financial analysis and business development required. MBA preferred.
Minimum seven years experience in a financial analyst/business development role and in real estate mergers/acquisitions/divestitures and portfolio management required.
Experience with detailed financial modeling, merger and acquisition activity, and execution of strategic business plans preferred.
Strong understanding of business and industry operation, as well as economic management concepts
Above average computer and technical skills with ability to create detailed spreadsheet models and business presentations. Understanding of management principles, concepts, processes and tools are required. Project management and problem solving skills are required.
Knowledge in legal aspects of contract negotiations.
