The Director, Marketing Decision Sciences provides leadership and oversight in the use of data and information to drive decisions across Bluestem Brands. They are responsible for end-to-end creation and management of analytical tools to drive profitable decisions and create highly targeted customer experiences. The Director will lead a team of skilled analytics professionals focused on providing research, predictive modeling and strategic analysis to support the Enterprise. Partnering with senior leadership in Marketing, this individual will work to use data and analytics to advance key strategies including revolutionizing the use of analytics in a digital environment, both on brand websites and across the Internet.
Major Job Responsibilities /Accountabilities
Lead the development and maintenance of predictive models and segmentation/targeting tools for Marketing across Bluestem’s brands to solve critical business problems
Lead efforts to evolve application of analytics in the digital space, driving profitable, customized experiences for consumers across the Internet
Engage business units to design in-market tests and measurement schemes that ensure learning objectives are met
Drive strategic thinking across the customer or prospect base by adapting marketing strategies based on extensive data analysis
Provide expertise and assistance in integrating advanced analytics across all Marketing channels, working with leadership teams to find best in class business solutions
Manage, coach, and develop personnel involved in conducting research, data mining, predictive modeling, and business analytics projects
Drive research and development efforts in support of ongoing, step-function improvements in modeling and analytic capabilities
Ability to scope technical requirements for delivering measurement/analytics plans
Provide analytical thought leadership and mentoring across the business units
Oversight of data analysis and interpretation of results in business context, with detailed findings and implications presented to key stakeholders at all levels
Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Economics; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in analytics and predictive modeling; preferably in Marketing
Demonstrated success in reporting and analytics leadership roles and expertise, sound judgment, and knowledge to help develop analytic capabilities
Proven experience in direct marketing, online/digital marketing or retail; financial services, card marketing and risk management experience a plus
Experience with digital/ecommerce marketing analytics preferred
Demonstrated skills collaborating with and influencing various business functions, corporate peers, and senior management
Influential, collaborative, team-oriented leadership style
