Job Summary:
The director of marketing and communications is the hands-on leader for all marketing, public relations and communications efforts for the Health System. Under the direction of the VP of Marketing and Communications, this individual has responsibility for day-to-day management of the department. The director has responsibility for the System’s branding activities, including brand and service-line campaigns, internal and external communications, media relations, digital strategies and properties, community relations, physician communications, publications, and physician advertising. This individual provides day-to-day leadership for a staff of marketers, public relations professionals and graphic designers.

Qualifications

:

A bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, marketing, journalism, English, communications or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred. Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience in System (preferred) or other healthcare public relations and/or marketing field. Strong and diplomatic leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in creating and managing departmental budgets, developing and implementing marketing, public relations and communications plans, and developing positive relationships with media and key stakeholders. Effective mentor and motivator for staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting and proofreading.
