Experience/Qualifications: Current RN licensure in the state of Florida Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree, Master of Science in Nursing preferred BLS Certified ACLS preferred (Critical Care Areas) Certification in Nursing Administration or Clinical Certification preferred Member of Professional Organization Minimum of two years experience in Nursing Management coupled with a minimum of five years clinical care experience required (preferable in specialty field). Special Skills: Knowledge, skills and competence in leadership, management and supervision Skills in communication and interpersonal relationships with professional and nonprofessional personnel

Physical Requirements: This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The employee will need to perform frequent lifting, able to move heavy equipment, and transfer patients. Employee must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, and be capable of making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated in addition to perform: 1. Frequent shoulder reaches above shoulder level. 2. Frequent shoulder forward reaches 16-17 inches away from the body. 3. Frequent shoulder forward reaches 24 inches from the body. 4. Grip a Dynamometer with a force > 10 lbs for 10 seconds 5. Pinch with a force > 2 lbs. For 10 seconds. 6. Frequent forward bending of torso 30 degrees. 7. Standing a minimum of 2 hours at a time. 8. Occasional squatting up to1 minute. 9. Lift 10 lbs with one hand from below knuckle height to above shoulder level. 10. Lift unstable loads (people, liquids, or loads that shift around or have unequal weight distribution). 11. Frequent lifting of 30 lbs. 12. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. 13. Occasionally carry 20 lbs. over a distance of 25 ft. 14. Frequently push/pull with a force of 40 lbs from a stand still position. 15. Occasionally push/pull with a force of 40 lbs. for 20 ft. Note: Frequently equals 20-25 times a day and Occasionally equals 8-10 times a day. Unless otherwise noted. Working Conditions The Clinical Director will be exposed to the following working conditions: May be exposed to patient elements Able to work in stressful situation with constant interruptions OSHA Exposure Potential Category 1- Exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids. Use of appropriate protective equipment is required.

Position Summary: The Director has professional responsibility to the Vice President Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer and is an integral member of the Nursing Leadership Team. The Director manages the overall operations of a Patient Care Unit is accountable for all twenty-four hours. This is to ensure cost-effective use of human and material resources in delivering “quality patient care”. This goal is accomplished by establishing a vision, providing leadership for future division development, assuring that the standards of care / scope of practice and quality improvement initiative are developed and maintained, and practice and managing the clinical, financial, operational and human resource services within the unit. The Director uses a collaborative process to develop departmental strategic goals and philosophy that supports the mission and vision of JMC.

The Nursing Director: Participates as a member of the JMC’s Nursing Management team in planning, policy formation, and administrative decision making with reference to the role, function, and operation of their departments. Supports JMC Nursing Vision, ”The Jupiter Medical Center Division of Nursing values excellence and innovation in preserving and advancing quality care to the patients we serve. These values are preserved through the integration of compassion, practice standards, fiscal accountability and technology while embracing the need to nurture and proliferate caregivers for the future”. · Supports JMC Management Action Plan philosophy with quality initiatives to improve patient care. · Provides Clinical Consultation to the Clinical Manager, Charge Nurses, and rest of their staff. · Defines and maintains the Standards of Nursing Practice within JMC. · Represents the Department of Nursing at required meetings. · Applying Cost Management Criteria. · Maximizing Performance Management. · Providing consistent Operations direction.
