About the Position:

Education Pioneers seeks a Director to lead its Partner Strategy efforts. The Sector Impact team is responsible for defining and charting the organization’s path to realizing its goal of making education the best led and managed sector in the U.S. The Director, Partner Strategy serves as the primary agent to develop, optimize, and integrate a comprehensive partner strategy and process, evaluate, and communicate real-time key partner results and year-over-year data on the partner portfolio to stakeholders. This role will also be managing the overall direction and implementation of partner development and strategic troubleshooting with regional teams. This is an exempt position which reports directly to the VP, Sector Impact and is in Oakland, CA.

Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial, highly-motivated strategic thinkers who possess demonstrated abilities to streamlines processes, manage projects and build relationships. This Director role will require someone with a strong presence to work on cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience and a natural excitement in building from the ground up and taking ideas to the next level.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop a Key Partner strategy and implementation plan and integrate partnership work into organization’s yearly planning cycle

  • Oversee the cultural shift (and communication, training, and adoption) from short-term, transactional partnerships to long-term, strategic partnerships, including: engaging and prioritizing Partners, defining metrics of success, setting targets, and tracking and reporting progress by year, and year-over-year comparisons

  • Conduct and present regular analyses to inform regional portfolio planning and prioritization

  • Oversee partner development training, ensure staff is aligned with partner strategy and provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to regional teams during execution

  • Design and implement dashboards, reports, and tools to support initiatives and evaluate progress in real-time

  • Coordinate, support the optimization of and serve as high-level point person for all Partner work streams sourced from other departments including: Partner Agreements, Fellow Placement, and Billing/Invoicing

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including strategy development, business development, sales, management consulting, project management

  • Exceptional project management, relationship building, and analytical skills

  • Systems savvy with ability to leverage technology to improve processes including strong excel and powerpoint skills

  • Ability to collaborate across functions to roll out initiatives and accomplish objectives through others

  • Ability to process large quantities of information and recognize patterns/trends

  • Experience achieving results in a fast-paced, goals-oriented environment
