The Digital Products & Interactive Media organization provides a wide variety of products and services in support of NBCUniversal’s consumer facing brands. DP&IM offers expertise in the areas of product management, user experience and design, technical development, implementation and operations to our business partners as we explore ways to establish and enhance their online presence through a variety of digital platforms.

DP&IM is seeking an experienced Product Manager to help drive the vision for our Mobile product offerings initially for iOS and Android platforms.

Our Product Managers do everything from brainstorming features to customer/competitor research to developing specifications to working closely with developers. Given the varying types of people you will work with, whether technical or not, the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone is essential and necessary. In addition, the candidate should also have proven expertise to analyze and predict where the relevant markets are heading in order to shape the Mobile product strategy of the organization.

Leadership is a critical quality as product managers build by motivating cross-functional teams. Influence is a function of the strength of your ideas, how clearly you can articulate your thinking, and the charisma with which you communicate.

Candidates should have experience envisioning, defining, planning, outlining, and spearheading the execution of winning mobile products. This role requires strong business judgment, understanding of current trends and technologies, mastery of product management best practices, and a keen focus on customers. We are looking for someone with passion and obsession for building world-class digital products and experiences.

Product Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and launch innovative products and features
  • Own product and project roadmaps and drive deliverables to successful completion
  • Deep understanding of the technologies/frameworks that drive mobile products including; HTML5, Native Apps (iOS, Andriod), responsive design etc.
  • Proven ability to distill business and product requirements into actionable items for the engineers
  • Work closely with external partners to align roadmaps
  • Drive continuous innovation and refinement of our applications and to bring metrics driven culture to the organization.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on release definition and scope
  • Dutifully execute the product manager’s responsibility with the agile methodology
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Be willing to make hard choices during a planning meeting
  • Balance the interests of competing stakeholders
  • Serve as product evangelist and primary brand liaison, working to improve their understanding of platform features, functionality and implementation details
  • Chair product council, working with brands to define upcoming priorities and business requirements
  • Represent the customer’s interest and our products to outside world (external to DP&IM)
  • Responsible for market, business case, and competitive analysis
  • Prioritize features for releases based upon expected ROI

  • Simplify strategy into specific actions, make decisions and communicate priorities
  • Communicate in a fashion that convinces and influences key decision-makers / stakeholders
  • Build a connection with the team through personal involvement and trust
  • Mentoring product managers through formal channels

  • Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field
  • 6+ years product management experience and demonstrated success in a consumer-facing digital products or services
  • Solid understanding customer needs, business goals and competitive pressures and the ability to convert those into product requirements and priorities
  • Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with advertising products and services across multiple channels and mediums is a plus
  • Proven experience in managing a product from ideation through development all the way to customers hands
  • Experience designing interfaces optimized for the television screen with its unique screen resolution, form factors, and input devices is critical.
  • Demonstrated strong partnering and negotiation skills with external companies
  • Strong understanding of analytics
  • Proven track record of managing complex products/projects in a cross-functional environment through launch
  • Experience with Agile Software Development (preferable SCRUM)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
