Responsible for overall design and implementation of regional external communications, including media relations, management of programming issues, crisis communications, charitable giving and industry relations at the state and regional level. Provide strategic support and counsel to local systems, Senior Managers of Field Communications and the Regional leadership team with regard to policy decisions, courses of action, and communications in all of these areas. Work in close partnership with the Regional Vice President, Marketing team and Government Relations team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Provide strategic support and guidance to local systems, Senior Managers of Field Communications and the Regional leadership team with regard to policy decisions, courses of action, and communication in all of these areas, specifically working closely with the Regional VP, Marketing team and Government Relations team.
Support, plan, and implement the Region’s media relations, management of programming issues relating to retransmission consent and cable network status, crisis communications, and charitable giving strategies at the local-state and regional level.
Proactively identify, manage and implement strategic communications conduits, programs and projects that help build and maintain Charter’s positive reputation among key audiences and help create expanded awareness of Charter, Charter Business and Charter Media as an industry leader and top employer; highlighting civic and charitable efforts, community commitments and leadership.
Manage, develop and lead field communications personnel within the Region.
Collaborate in preparing Company positions for use by local and regional management before local franchise authorities, news media and community organizations, in order to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships, and effectively manage positive and negative news.
Work to educate our customers and news media regarding Charter’s new products and services.
Serve as the Company spokesperson involving all external communications opportunities.

Knowledge of cable television products and services
Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
4 years of experience in communications-related positions
Cable television, telephone, broadband environment experience preferred
2 years of senior management experience
Extensive travel may be required
