The Director is the key administrator and educator, responsible for and involved in all instructional and operational aspects of the Simulation Center. The Director reports to the Vice Provost for Health. Develop and implement policies, procedures and practice standards consistent with Simulation Center mission, vision and values. Provide leadership and participate in the training of faculty in the use of simulation as a teaching tool. Recruit, hire and manage Simulation Center staff to assure effective maintenance and operation of programs. Provide ongoing review and evaluation of the Simulation Center. Provide oversight in the appropriate design, development and implementation of simulation in the curriculum. Prepare annual budget, monitor revenue/expenditures throughout the year and manage funding sources, ensuring contracts are maintained and revenue sources maximized. Seek external funding. Work with the Simulation Team and the Office of the Vice Provost for Health to seek grant funding to enhance the simulation program. Establish and maintain collaborations with local health care providers. Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, implementation and integration of patient simulation technology into existing healthcare curricula. Promote, publish and/or present innovative simulation research at local, national or international levels. Oversee the systematic collection of data to assess the impact of simulation on the learning process. Refine simulation expertise through appropriate educational and developmental activities and professional affiliations by keeping current with national and international advances in simulation. As the Simulation Center representative, promote the interests of GVSU and the CHS Simulation Center through active participation in local, national and international organizations and events.

Required Qualifications and Education
A Bachelor degree in a Health discipline required. This position requires outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
Working on a Master's degree or possessing a Master's degree in a health or related discipline preferred. Direct experience with simulation including: managing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating simulation programs highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of educational theory and principles and methods of adult education is desirable.
