Mixpo is looking for a best in class business development professional to join a first rate team and help take Mixpo to the next level. While we continue to grow business in core focus areas, we’re looking to expand into new ones, building out our ecosystem and taking advantage of opportunities that make sense to do so. We want to accelerate.

We’re looking for a smart, experienced, entrepreneurial strategic business development professional who offers three things: 1) high intelligence – analytical, yet also creative in a practical manner, 2) fantastic at getting buy-in on deals both internally and externally, including any negotiation in either direction, and 3) a hands on technical manager experience (you don’t need to be a developer, but you should have recognized strength and experience in IT project management).

Responsibilities include:
Identifying market opportunities and assessing them for feasibility and cost/benefit

Presenting deep yet simplified analysis and recommendations using explanation you’ve made simple, not complex (this is hard to do well).

Getting buy-in with stakeholders both internally and externally for deals and the associated practical implications.

Negotiating contracts while also being smart about when a contract is needed (often).

Working with engineering to help provide them with the information needed to assess prioritization and feasibility of technical investments.

Creating and maintaining an ecosystem roadmap that looks out 12-24 months, one that is both practical and aspirational.

Conduct analysis of competitors and analogous companies to provide context for deal making.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability for each of the following:

Educational excellence.

Clearly identified career success – promotions, awards.

Passion about technology.

Deep experience in ad tech.

Superior analytical skills and business acumen – exceptional ability to conduct actionable, strategic assessments.

Strong marketing acumen – both what you’re born with and what you learn in school or in practice. You’re as good with numbers as you are with assessment of ad creative.

A+ communication skills. Your writing is concise and compelling as are your presentations. This is super important.

You are comfortable presenting to executive audiences and capable of simplifying assessments into consumable recommendations.

You are able to influence without friction. People love working with you.

You are able to relate to any audience and draw insights.

You are optimistic. You are a creative problem solver, not an objection raiser. You’ll figure out how to move the mountain if asked.

You are not all over the place with deal ideas. Creativity is warmly welcome. Scattered thinking isn’t.

You’re scrappy, tenacious, and resourceful yet organized.

You are a self-starter. And a rock star.

You boil down to simple, not boil up to complex.

You have 5-7 years of business development experience, preferably in ad tech, but at the very least in B2B cloud-based services. Consulting or investment banking experience with a tier one firm is beneficial as is an MBA.
