Description

Employee shall work collaboratively across functional areas to identify and evaluate new M&A and other business development opportunities in the pre-clinical and CRO arena that are consistent with PPD's strategic objectives.

Employee shall participate in the implementation and execution of a strategy development and planning process for the company

Research and use market information and strategic intelligence to develop market analysis, business plans and support strategic initiatives

Work with respective PPD executive leadership and operating units to research, identify and prioritize acquisition and joint venture targets

Evaluate deal opportunities from a strategic, cultural and financial perspective

Conduct/oversee, coordinate all necessary due diligence and participate in negotiating deal terms

Qualifications

Successful track record as a corporate development professional, including identification, evaluation, negotiation, and completion of M&A transactions or other equivalent transactions which were critical to the growth of the organization.

Solid understanding of the drug development process across functional disciplines.

Ability to evaluate market opportunities using all available resources. Ability to build robust valuation models.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Must be comfortable interacting with executive leadership.

Meaningful experience in strategy development and planning

Education and Experience:
BS degree

MBA degree (strongly preferred)

5 years post-MBA experience within strategy/strategic planning (within the CRO/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry strongly preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have strong financial acumen including ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and create/model valuation analyses.

Must have "executive presence" as significant time will be spent interacting with PPD's executive team
