Position Summary:
The Director of Health & Wellness Education provides health education, resources, support and alternative healthy activities for the campus community. Provides leadership in the day-to-day management and coordination of departmental initiatives, programs, and services. Responsible for designing, facilitating and supervising educational workshops, classroom presentations, special educational events, STI testing, Wellness Expo, health screens, and alcohol awareness week. Supervises staff which includes two (2) Health Promotion Coordinators, temporary staff, Graduate Assistants, Student Assistants and student volunteer peer educators. Recruits, trains and evaluates both paid and volunteer staff and student peer educators. Functions as Advisor for the Peer Education Team, a Student Government agency and as a mentor for student peer educators. Serves as health promotion liaison with partner campus wellness programs and staff. Works with the staff to develop creative educational programs in all areas of wellness. Evaluates and updates all areas of programming and student services and is responsible for program reporting, acquisition of office equipment, and development of resources and other materials as deemed necessary. Provides presentations for students and special interest groups (i.e. athletes, fraternity and sorority life, and residential students) on various topics that include but are not limited to: sexual health, stress management, alcohol and other drugs, healthy relationships, nutrition, fitness and eating disorders. Conducts annual and ongoing training programs for peer educators. Manages multiple budgets.

Minimum Qualification:
A Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Education, or Wellness Programs and six years of working in a college or university environment with student programming and outreach is required. A valid driver's license is required. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are also required. Budget management experience is preferred. Previous experience in Wellness/Health Education is preferred; supervision and work experience in a university setting are also preferred.
