We know the success of this movement hinges on Education Pioneers having the right team in place to execute on this vision. The Director, Talent Recruitment will be at the forefront of identifying and recruiting the most talented professionals to advance this mission.

The Director, Talent Recruitment will report to the Vice President of Human Assets and will be required to travel to recruiting events at Education Pioneers sites at least 20% of the time. This role may be based in Oakland, CA or Boston, MA. Oakland, CA is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities
•Build robust and diverse pools of talent for current and future openings via networking, staff referrals, online sourcing, and participation in events.
•Develop deep partnerships with talent pipeline organizations and individuals who can be strong sources of candidate referrals
•Epitomize a level of enthusiasm about working at Education Pioneers as a model for all staff and to promote the organization’s employment brand to external audiences.
•Work with managers to write job descriptions that are clear, accurate, and inspiring.
•Ensure consistent use of interview tools including candidate scorecards, screening tools, and assessment procedures, working with managers on an ongoing basis to customize and update these tools to meet the needs of specific offices and searches.
•Demonstrate customer service orientation toward hiring managers in meeting their talent needs as a strategic business partner
•Lead all stages of the candidate hiring process, including candidate screening and selection, and collaborate with the Finance & Operations team to ensure a smooth on-boarding experience once an employee is hired.
•Strategically collaborate with search firms as necessary to ensure a broad and diverse candidate pool and timely hiring process.
•Manage Salesforce based applicant tracking systems to capture relevant candidate information, report on an analyze recruitment performance, and manage the entire candidate experience.
•Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Human Assets and Director of Human Assets to ensure coordination of all human capital efforts.
•Continuously monitor, evaluate, and enhance Education Pioneers’ effectiveness in recruiting the most highly qualified and diverse candidate pool possible.

Candidate Requirements

Education and Experience
•At least 5 years of exceptional performance as an HR manager, recruiter, or similar role
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred
•Not-for-profit experience is a plus
•Significant experience in recruiting and interviewing, with proven ability to attract exceptional talent and build high-performing teams
