Fujitsu Management Services of America, Inc. provides administrative and financial support to Fujitsu North American companies. The company is comprised of a Research and Development group, a Sales and Marketing group and the Global Software Center. Additionally, the company offers shared services such as treasury, patent support, tax, facilities, employee benefit programs, and other administrative functions.

The company also supports Fujitsu Limited, its Japanese parent company, in procurement operations; and provides IT support to National Astronomical Observatory of Japan with the operation of Subaru telescope in Hilo, Hawaii.

Reporting to Vice President of Tax and Treasury, the director of Tax will lead the tax department to support the administration of federal, state and local tax compliance, develop and implement tax strategies, conduct planning activities, and serve as a technical advisor to parent company and Fujitsu affiliated companies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement various tax planning strategies including global transfer pricing structures, and advice and collaborate with parent company and Fujitsu affiliated companies in order to achieve business goals.

Provide tax technical research and analysis to Fujitsu affiliated companies to identify issues arising out of transactions with customers and / or vendors.

Monitor and analyze tax regulatory and compliance developments and tax law changes and communicate such impact from the changes, if any, to parent company and affiliated companies.

Provide parent company and affiliated companies as well as Company senior management with tax advice on various projects as required.
*
Oversee and manage compliance operations to ensure accuracy and timely filings of all tax returns and government reporting, including those for the affiliated companies, with government authorities.
*
Ensure company’s income tax provisions are made with GAAP / ASC 740 and other authoritative guidance related to accounting for income taxes.
*
Conduct discussions and negotiations with various government agencies on tax audit as appropriate.
*
Lead projects and initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and company reorganizations in the United States.
*
Oversee operations in providing assignees from parent company with services in filing individual income tax returns with government authorities.
*
Lead Tax department with continuous improvement of processes and implementation of best practices.

Others as required

*
Minimum of fifteen years of combined public accounting and corporate income tax accounting andcompliance experience, with five or more years in public accounting in a senior position and five or more years of direct management and supervisory experience.

Strong foundation and base of technical skills and compliance experience, including process and controls and use of tax tools, applications and relevant financial systems.
*
Experience demonstrates ability to identify, analyze and communicate complex tax issues and related implications on the Company to key stakeholders and senior management.Experience in transfer pricing is required.
*
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to interact and partner with functional groups and parent company as well as affiliated companies.
*
Ability to think strategically, to use independent judgment and initiative in problem resolution, and make decisions.
*
Ability to embrace change and be flexible to changing business needs.
*
Strong leadership skills.
*
Bilingual in Japanese and English a plus
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline, CPA required.
*
Masters in Taxation.
