Amazon's Digital division needs a world class Senior Technical Program Manager to own and launch new and exciting applications across a variety of platforms.

Our team develops cutting edge applications using the latest in mobile and web technologies to create great user experiences for our customers. This role requires working with product management to define strategy and requirements, and leading development teams across US and abroad from design through delivery. This role will also be responsible for building a world class product management team that will enable the team’s success. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential.

The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader/manager with superior analytical abilities and product judgment. This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The candidate is not just a policy maker/spokesperson but drives to get things done. At the core of the position is delivery. The ideal candidate will have 8 or more years of relevant work experience in internet-related project and/or technical product management in a software applications environment.

Qualified candidates have experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets, as well as analyzing the cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization. This candidate must also have experience in hiring great program managers, building a delivery focused environment and determining the right processes to make the team successful.

Basic Qualifications

ability to build and lead a program management team spanning multiple disciplines and technology areas ability to communicate the high level vision and strategy but still jump into the details and quickly bring issues to resolution product development (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services) process building and project management managing release schedules experience with embedded, mobile or cloud services development is preferred ability to communicate effectively at all levels with executives and technical teams ability to mentor and grow the skill sets of their team
