Director - Business Development

The Director - Business Development is responsible for leading sales and solution definition activities associated with the acquisition of new clients. They will actively prospect and lead associated business development activities to create revenue opportunities for Bayshore Solutions - this includes the creation of leads via prospecting/networking activities, qualification of potential opportunities for customer fit and budget, creation of standard proposals and RFP responses with limited assistance, working with appropriate delivery staff to create complex proposals, and closing potential business opportunities. The Director gains client commitment for contracts and manages the client relationship through the initial project.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
: Prospect Identification / Lead Generation - Creates and executes individual marketing/prospecting plans for the purpose of creating sales meetings with targeted prospects; Develops relationships with potential new customers through personal meetings, presentations, speaking engagements, business networking, telephone calls, personal emails, personal mailings, business forums, and/or other business or social gatherings.

: Needs Assessment / Prospect Qualification - Performs needs assessments and identifies sales opportunities within target accounts; Qualifies prospective customer opportunities to ensure lead and sales conversion goals fall within company guidelines; Understands sales funnel methodology and maintains acceptable scorecard benchmarks including monthly leads, pipeline, and sales quota(s).

: Solution Architecture / Proposal Creation - Leads solution definition within the business development process - including facilitation of sales meeting, execution of meetings, client discovery, solution development, proposal creation, project estimation, and client presentation; Actively works with prospects to identify project requirements and potential solutions; Creates non-complex proposal and RFP responses in an independent manner; Works with cross-functional team members to create complex solutions and associated proposals.

: Close Potential Opportunities - Understands client decision making processes and all individuals associated; Works with client to understand any obstacles associated with proposed solutions that would interfere with closing of the contract; Facilitates understanding of customer issues and resolves/escalates accordingly; Gains client commitment and signature on contract at a level resulting in sales of over $750,000 (or other quota identified) per year; Assists accounting in collection efforts.

: Leadership, Innovation and Training - Provides mentorship for other staff and cross functional team members; Serves as subject matter expert on Bayshore Solutions history, case studies, delivery methodology, and products; Contributes to Bayshore Solutions marketing collateral and intellectual property library; Proactively commits to self-directed education and research projects.

: Administration - Records activity into Salesforce.com CRM software on a daily basis; Meet agreed upon sales quota and activity based scorecard expectations; consistently adhere to Bayshore Solutions' company policies.

Education and/or Experience:
: Experience identifying and resolving complex technical and business process issues.

: Demonstrated experience leading the entire business development process including targeted prospecting, opportunity identification, solutions definition, project estimation, and client acceptance.

: History in the execution of custom technology and/or marketing solutions.

: Experience working with a team of technical/creative individuals providing solutions in a professional services or agency environment.

: 6 - 10 years of experience in selling web based solutions and/or marketing services.

: 3-5 years of experience working with a team delivering solutions in a professional service environment.

: 3-5 years of experience prospecting and selling to companies with revenues of $100 Million to $750 Million

: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
