Reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer, the Director of the Commercial Business Channel will be responsible for the sales, strategic marketing and P&L for the Commercial Food Service, Commercial Casework and Millwork and Commercial Hospitality product lines. Product teams consist of channel sales and marketing, product planners, technical support and estimators and bidders. Our commercial channel provides Elkay product solutions for commercial kitchens, baths and foyers.

The select leader will manage all aspects of the Commercial products and services with the objective of maximizing customer satisfaction and overall value to Elkay. Develop and execute a product marketing plan, including an assessment of the present condition, a definition of future objectives, and action plans to get there. This position will exercise general management responsibilities across the various functional segments of the channel.

In collaboration with product function teams:
Develop product strategy, annual plan and budget

Create a long term competitive product strategy to ensure sustainable profitable growth

Support and strengthen current product and market position

Identify and implement new product initiatives

Identify and implement new market initiatives

Identify and implement product changes and enhancements

Ensure that customer needs are being met

Ensure that the product line is adding value to the channel

Establish and maintain vendor relationships as needed

Develop and coordinate new product introductions to the field sales force and to distribution

Monitor initial forecasts of new products and recommend adjustment for the first year a product is on the market as assigned

Investigate and resolve product quality issues as required

Evaluate industry trends, customer feedback, technological advancements and marketing requirements

Analyze product profitability and performance

Develop objectives and strategies that will be supported by forecasts, definition of target markets and executable action plans in the following areas;

Product performance assessment and opportunities

Market performance assessment and opportunities

Advertising and promotion strategy

Sales and distribution strategy

Product and market pricing strategy

Product support and training requirements

Marketing research and analysis requirements

Financial performance reporting

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, with a Master’s degree a plus.

10+ years of leadership experience in the commercial food service kitchen equipment and fixtures industry required.

M&A experience preferred.

Turnaround expertise highly desirable.

Proven ability to lead through others essential.

Proven ability to develop new product ideas and value capture opportunities.

Demonstrated process improvement/Lean/six sigma skills preferred.

Experience with custom product preferred.

Experience with complex distribution of both sourced and manufactured products preferred.
