ShopKeep POS is seeking a Director of Communications in its New York City office to spread the word about how amazing ShopKeep POS is. This individual will create, develop and execute strategic communication plans that will support the brand across online and offline media channels.
This person will also support new launches and emerging platforms through both business and trade press. This position reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:
Serve as key strategist for the brand on communications including daily public relations outreach for Trade, Small Business, Technology, Reseller, Credit Card Processing, and Payments-based publications as well as local, regional, and national news outlets.
Lead all outreach for press releases, feature pitches, etc.
360-degree thinking as a marketing communications strategist, with strong conceptual and writing skills and ability to position brand effectively within the market
Oversee and manage logistics for maximum efficiency, mailing list creation and maintenance, weekly emails, blogging, social media monitoring and interactions
Create and manage events at trade shows and with local small business organizations.
Manage the coordination of TV and radio segments and print interviews inclusive of talking points, research, spokesperson preparation, and props, if needed.

Requirements:
At least 6-7 years of related work experience
In-depth knowledge of media in order to recognize elements that can and should be publicized
Strong relationships with key members of the media in various beats: television producers, print journalists, trade reporters, as well as key online/bloggers
The ability to work in a fast-paced structure and manage multiple activities simultaneously
Excellent writing skills

Bonus Points:
Bachelors Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Liberal Arts a plus
Interest in iPad technology and/or helping to grow small businesses a plus
