Accountable for the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic communications plan which includes programs and outreach aimed at external audiences (via media and community relations) and internal stakeholders (employees, retailer/dealers, etc.)

Leads community relations efforts with municipal entities and non-profits/NGOs.

Develops and manages measurement tools to understand the impact of external communications on brand health and strength and to gauge the public perception of brand reputation.

Serves as a key member of the marketing leadership team, collaborating closely with peers to ensure overall strength and maintenance of the Benjamin Moore brand.

Leverage a broad-based knowledge of the external environment and key stakeholders (media, customers, activists, policymakers, and community and industry influencers) to provide advice and counsel to enhance and protect the corporate reputation, and anticipate regulatory and compliance issues and develop proactive strategies and materials for the purposes of communicating effectively with the media on them.

Lead efforts to manage negative news and crisis situations to minimize negative impact.

Leads the external and internal communications functions for Benjamin Moore & Co.

Manages external and internal resources (including multiple outside agencies) to ensure aligned, coordinated and focused communications efforts across all stakeholder and customer segments.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

10+ years’ diversified communications background with a primary focus on communications, public/media relations, social media, thought leadership, and change management, preferably in consumer products

Proven track record in strategic and integrated communications aimed at driving growth, enhancing reputation, brand awareness in alignment with business strategies

Experience managing external interviews for senior executive officers, including national television, radio, global print/broadcast media, and all trade publications.

Creative, integrative problem-solving and structured thinking, with long & short term objectives

An external and forward looking perspective on industry trends and practices.
