Director position requires an MBA and 10 years of healthcare accounting or finance experience. A CPA is preferred. This position will act as the primary lead on analyzing financial information to support strategic decisions and operational improvement projects for Physician Services. Special skills include knowledge of auditing procedures, strong analytical skills, exceptional computer skills across all platforms.
Hands on data mining skills, including willingness and ability to work with multiple systems to reconcile discrepancies in data and payments from third party payors. · Incumbent will become the super user for Crimson Market Advantage. Utilizing this system to identify leakage trends across all employed physicians. · Incumbent will reconcile SMS hospital procedures, consults and inpatient stays to Signature or Allscripts systems to determine that all episodes of care are captured and billed correctly across all systems. · Utilize Crystal Reports or Access to create custom reports to supplement the standard reports available in All Scripts. Works closely with health system ‘s leadership to develop business plans for new practices or programs. Conducts revenue integrity audits of 'all physician practices on an ongoing basis. · Reports all findings from the audits including over or underpayments to the Director of Patient Accounting and follows up to determine if findings have been addressed. Regularly reviews the adherence to and effectiveness of existing control procedures in place at all physician practices. Modifies, as necessary, policies and procedures and creates new controls as the needs present. Identifies opportunities to reduce expenses and increase revenues in all physician practices. Audits physicians’ administrative timesheets to determine adherence to the policies in place. · Meets with the practice administrator on a timely basis to review the findings of the timesheet audits and make recommendations for improvement. Works with the staff accountant to implement a fixed asset system across all physician practices. Participates in the annual operating and capital budget process for Physician Services and Aria Orthopaedics. Reviews and ensures timely filing of 990 and 990 Tax returns. 10. Utilizes MGMA and other sources to review and report on physician practice productivity. 11. Works closely with hospital finance department to generate product line P&Ls.
