Job Description

The Director of Employee Experience & Communication is a key position on the CSSG Culture & Talent Management team and will provide leadership in three critical areas. 1) Gratification, recognition and rewards programs that drive customer-centric behaviors and results. 2) Communication programs that promote communication in all directions and at all levels. 3) Creation and maintenance of a high-energy, collaborative, physical environment. Combining these three functions provides a holistic perspective to the employee experience and the culture of CSSG and will have a significant impact on the quality of service CSSG provides to MetLife’s customers and the overall performance of the organization.
This position requires thorough understanding of MetLife and CSSG’s strategic plans, operating objectives, and core values. The successful candidate must possess strong relationship-building skills and is expected to play a proactive and visible role in the organization, work closely with CSSG leaders and business partners.

Responsible for the development and execution of an internal communications strategy that promotes communication in all directions and at all levels, including but not limited to:

Leader-led messaging
Brainstorming wiki
Employee-led circles and decision making
Management education
Facilitating skip-level meetings
Hosting conference calls
Town Hall presentations and speaker notes
Employee surveys

Responsible for the development and execution of a gratification / recognition platform and rewards program that drive customer-centric behaviors and results, including but not limited:

Leader-delivered recognition

Peer-to-peer recognition

Team nomination processes

Large-event planning

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a high-energy, collaborate physical environment:

Working with operations leaders to ensure daily huddles occur

Public display of key customer metrics

Consistent management floor presence across sites

Site tours

General maintenance of a fun, yet clean and safe environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Full people management responsibility, including hiring, firing, promotions, performance and compensation management, & training & development.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in communications, or related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred

Minimum 10 years’ experience in mid- or senior-management role.

Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with business leaders

Extensive and successful writing and editing experience

Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive communications strategy to advance an organization's mission and goals

Innovative thinker with a track record for executing on strategic thinking

Ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers

Self-reliant, good problem solver, results-oriented

Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs

Experience developing and implementing employee recognition programs
