Drives end-to-end technical solutions for packaging, processing and electrical controls.
Provides technical leadership and direction to project teams responsible for execution from concept to initial production of multi-discipline capital project/programs.
Develops and directs technical business strategies in support of overall business goals while ensuring compliance to corporate standards, specifications, and processes.
Provide technical leadership, direction and advice to Engineering Platform, Plants, and other key leadership. Position Responsibilities
Works with Platform Directors, Plant Managers, Plant Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and Start-Up Managers regarding Packaging, Processing and Electrical Control projects within the platform.
Works with centralized resources that govern policy concerning standards and specifications as well as manage the resources to develop and drive sustained utilization of specifications, standards and design guidelines.
Works with Platform engineering leadership in support of developing annual and 3 year capital plans by recommending improvements and solutions that are proven in both concept and performance.
Is the Platform champion for Vertical Start-up and the integration of the start up function with the Platform functional partners.
Is the key Platform resource interfacing with RQI in collaboration with center resources on developments, initiatives and opportunities that are in the pipeline for the Platform.
Coordinates the development of Front-End-Loading packages (FEL-I’s) that are clear, concise, and reflecting thorough progressive due diligence to ensure project success. Works with other engineering disciplines to ensure FEL’s follow a consistent format, data synchronization, and clear boundaries with flawless transcription among the various disciplines.
Reviews FEL packages for accuracy, completeness, and operational effectiveness including but not limited to :
Technology assessment and recommended solution including plant, ConAgra Foods, and industry best-in-class practices
Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level)
Infrastructure requirements and needs assessment
Capital / Expense estimates and cash-flow schedule
Schedule to complete subsequent design phases relative to an assumed approval date
Equipment / System Performance criteria
Identification of Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities
Develops and drives intra-platform and cross-enterprise programs focused on improving infrastructure condition, capacity, capability, and sustainability while generally reducing total delivered costs.
Keeps current with latest food industry technology and commercial applications of this technology.
Keeps current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to food industry facilities and related infrastructure equipment system design and operation; specifically platform specific technologies/
Provides technical and economic feasibility to other groups within the Company that are focused on improvements to the current state and developing competitive advantages against ConAgra Food’s peer set.
A BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering with a Food Engineering emphasis is required.
10 - 15 yrs. practical experience in food manufacturing operations and food manufacturing conceptual design.
Excellent leadership qualities, verbal and written communication skills, and technical analysis and problem solving skills are required.
Proven ability to work across all levels of a matrix organization.
