Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Director
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
10+ years progressive Health, Safety, Environmental experience.
5+ years of progressive managerial experience.
Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
EHS Certification (e.g., CIH, CSP, CHMM).
Lean manufacturing experience and/or certification a plus, including Green Belt Certification.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and influencing skills.

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Director - Americas is responsible for leadership of the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) function for The Americas region. This is a leadership position reporting directly to the VP HSE and matrix reporting to the VP of Manufacturing for the region
Ensures facilities are in compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and corporate policies, procedures and programs.
Provides strategic direction for site HSE operations in the region and assist in developing the HSE Global Strategic Plan and HSE Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
Develops and articulates a clear vision, mission, and structure for the HSE team, including the ownership of an effective goal deployment process.
Drives Process Safety management through the region.
Responds to HSE concerns raised by sites and participate in incident investigations.
Interfaces with government agencies to maintain regulatory compliance (audits, annual reports, applications for permits, etc.).
Drives incident reduction by establishing proactive HSE programs. Utilizes behavior based safety strategies, and other contemporary processes to guide incident prevention efforts.
Leads efforts to continuously improve HSE performance and operations, including environmental/sustainability projects, conservation activities, and projects focused on improving facility efficiency, preventive maintenance program and energy reduction efforts.
Defines and leads HSE improvement initiatives across the sites (ergonomics, industrial hygiene, engineering controls, PPE, waste management, etc.).
Manages talent strategies including succession planning, Employee Development Review (EDR), and career development processes.
Actively coaches, develops and provides performance feedback/actions to employees.
Is a change agent: influences, consults, and leads efforts for sharing and standardizing of best practices and processes across the sites.
Leads and provides input and direction in support of tiered accountability meetings and daily standard work for cross-functional team.
Integrates PES/Lean and Six Sigma tools to continuously improve HSE performance across the sites.
Identifies opportunities to successfully integrate HSE programs/activities into overall business operations (Pall Enterprise System (PES)) requirements.
Ensures consistency and standardization of processes and tools used by the team in the execution of their standard work.
