Job Description

Overview of Position: Position responsible for the oversight of the Corporate and Other segment financial activities as well as the accounting for Delam legal entities and other Corporate accounting activities. The incumbent will also provide support for USSTAT accounting issues and transactions, with particular focus on Alico and Delam legal entities. This position works with in-country and regional staff as well as other Corporate departments.

Principal Accountabilities of Position:
  • Oversees finance activities for the Corporate and Other segment. Including financial close and projections, and applicable analysis.
  • Oversees accounting for Delam legal entity.
  • Manages activities to prepare financial reports to comply with outside regulatory agencies and to provide management with timely information.
  • Ensures established close deadlines are met while maintaining a controlled environment.
  • Initiate process opportunities and implement improved solutions.
  • Provide support for USSTAT accounting issues and transactions, and preparation of USSTAT financials, with particular focus on Alico and Delam, and support the coordination between the regions and the USSTAT reporting team.
  • Prepare Stat Analytics for Alico or other entities, if applicable.
  • Supports internal and external audits as required
  • Perform other general accounting duties as needed
  • Lead or participate in special projects as required

Job Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting
  • CPA, MBA, or CMA highly desired
  • Proficient in US GAAP, understanding of IFRS a plus
  • Proficient in insurance accounting and US STAT
  • Knowledge of People Soft and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) a plus
  • Prior experience with international reporting including an understanding of the impact of foreign exchange
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Prior supervisory experience. Ability to manage team of approximately 6 members
  • Ability to work with associates at all levels, including senior management.
  • Ability to produce results and carry out initiatives independently
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Ability to work within tight time constraints and multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and collaboration
  • Proficient in use of computerized financial systems and PS applications
  • Knowledge of a language relative to our international operations a plus
  • Prior experience with international reporting including an understanding of the impact of foreign exchange
