Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Food Service required. Masters degree preferred. Registered Dietitian required. Experience: Minimum three years experience in Food Service Management in an acute care setting preferred. Training: None required. License / Certification: Current San Bernardino County Food Handlers Card or current ServSafe certification within six (6) months of hire. Knowledge/skills/abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position Summary:

The Director is responsible for the overall planning, administration, and operations of clinical, patient, cafeteria, and catering food service functions. This responsibility includes maintaining professional standards and compliance with state, federal, and local regulatory agencies. The Director is responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the department, safety practice for food handling, orientation, work assignments, supervision of work and personnel performance, menu planning, purchasing and storage of food and supplies, retention of essential records, for the safe operation of equipment, and for maintaining a safe working environment. Develops and implements cost effective nutrition programs in support of hospitalized patients. Functions as a member of the hospitals multidisciplinary health care team, reports nutrition services QAPI and sits on a variety of committees. Provides liaison with the medical and nursing staff of the hospital. Performs other duties as assigned.
