Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:|
Responsible for Human Resources activities for all operations in Mexico including; manufacturing plants, field sales and administration offices. Work with local management to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations as well as corporate policies and procedures. Provide direction and support in the areas of employment, employee and labor relations, compensation, benefits, communications and community relations, training, management and organizational development. Determine appropriate areas for standardization, including systems, benefits and employee policies and initiate strategic and tactical plans for implementation.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide functional leadership and direction to the Human Resources function at all manufacturing locations in Mexico. Coach, mentor and develop HR staff to ensure a robust talent pool.
Provide Human Resources support, as needed to non-manufacturing organizations (Field Sales, Country Management, etc.) in Mexico.
Develop and implement Human Resources practices and programs which support the accomplishment of short and long-range business objectives and address identified employee needs.
As appropriate standardize systems, process, benefits, policies and procedures.
Manage all compensation activities to insure equitable and competitive compensation structures and practices are maintained.
Work with corporate management and local brokers and vendors to implement and manage competitive, cost effective benefit programs.
Ensure compliance with all Federal and local legislations and company policies. Periodically audit systems, records and programs.
Ensure the implementation of an effective retention program at all locations to minimize employee turnover.
Implement creative employment strategies and processes to insure the recruitment of the best employee talent available.
Facilitate the transition of new Plant Managers to insure successful integration. Provide coaching and counsel to all Plant Managers as required.
Monitor, investigate and respond to employee problems/issues, as needed.
Insure effective union avoidance practices are in place in unorganized facilities.
Insure effective employee activity and communications programs are in place and utilized at all locations.
All other projects and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resource/Business Administration. Graduate degree strongly preferred.
- 10 years plant HR management experience in Mexico.
- Extensive knowledge of Mexican employment law, litigation and employee relations practices.
- Strong oral and written communications skills (English/Spanish).
- Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills and the ability to function at all levels across multiple organizations.
