We have an
immediate opening for a Director of IT
in our ePresence group. As Director of
IT you will provide information technology
leadership in the areas of Sales and Marketing, ePresence, Knowledge and
Content Management, and Legal. This leader will partner closely with the
Performance Materials and Technology leadership (PMT) to drive the strategic
planning, prioritization, budgeting and deployment of appropriate applications
and processes to ensure alignment with business and functional goals. The role
manages a team of 8 Honeywell employees and covers a domain area which includes
all PMT customer-centric applications and web portals/sites (ePresence
including CRM, business websites and portals), Pricing and analytics tools
(e.g. Vendavo, BW), and knowledge management and social media &
collaboration tools (e.g. Documentum, SharePoint, Video, Lync, Chatter, Enterprise
Search) across all of PMT.

Primary location is Morristown, New Jersey , but will consider
candidates in other Honeywell hubs such as, Des Plaines, Illinois or
Richmond, Virginia .

Principal Roles and

Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with business and
functional stakeholders to understand their goals & objectives. Understand
their operational processes & metrics. Promote candid dialogue and increase
IT’s sensitivity to key strategic and tactical requirements and position IT as
a creator of value.

  • Facilitate the development of strategic
application roadmaps to provide capabilities that will help business /
functional stakeholder organizations achieve their goals and objectives and
continuously improve / optimize their performance.

  • Ensure robust Portfolio, Resource, and Project
Management techniques are widely deployed and adopted. Maintain effective
controls and accountability systems over program execution to ensure a safe,
compliant, and efficient IT operation.

  • Lead the planning and execution of application
development / enhancement programs and small work requests as specified in the
application roadmaps. Deliver on scope / business case, schedule and cost
commitments.

  • Manage the demand for IT services against budget
and resource constraints. Facilitate the prioritization of work, scheduling and
assignment of work as well as the communication of commitments and status to IT
and business/ functional stakeholders.

  • Manage a team of 8 Honeywell employees. Have
responsibility for career and skills development.

  • Participate in the preparation of IT Annual
Operating Plan (AOP) and Functional Update (Strategic Plan). Drive the team to
meet its financial commitments by reviewing the budget versus actual
expenditures and taking appropriate corrective action.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in Information Systems or related
field required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading
application development / deployment programs including establishment of
program / project management disciplines.

  • Minimum 8 years of program/project management
experience.

ADDITIONAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

MBA a plus


Green Belt / DFSS certification preferred; Blackbelt training a plus

  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and thought
leadership in commercial and customer-centric and social collaboration
technologies and processes (Sales, Marketing, CRM, Web & Portals, Pricing,
Analytics, knowledge and content management, Video, and Search).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and
the ability to interact well at all levels of the organization. Strong
interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with
business / functional stakeholders; and an ability to represent and drive IT
value in a business setting.

  • Cross-functional and business engagement
experience including demonstrated experience leading change, particularly
driven by the introduction of new technology

  • Strategic planning experience in the face of
sometimes unclear / ambiguous requirements from business customers, nascent
technologies; and experience developing robust roadmaps for applications
development and deployment

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing
circumstances and accelerate a change effort within the organization.

  • Ability to remove performance barriers and
deliver under challenging circumstances.

  • Skilled in talent management including the
ability to develop & coach others

  • Minimum of 10 years IT related experience in
medium/large scale organizations, preferably with experience deploying and
supporting commercial, customer-centric web, and collaboration/knowledge
management technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience (5 years) leading
Application Development programs and change management engagements. Experience
(5 years) managing Application development, deployment and support teams
preferred.
