Provides leadership in the development, analysis, and reporting of data from the college’s information resources for the purposes of institutional research, planning, self-studies, program reviews, marketing, accreditation, academic, and student assessment activities to drive informed decision-making at the College. Works closely with Information Systems and Services staff to develop internal analytic reports and state and federal data files/reports. Compiles data and information into user friendly written reports, executive summaries, and graphic presentations for distribution to trustees, institutional leadership, college staff, and external constituencies.
Responsible for developing and recommending policies, procedures, and operational systems
that forward a progressive model of institutional research resulting in deployment and utilization of data to drive institutional improvement and advancement. Responsible for developing recommendations on issues relevant to data interpretation and assessment results.
Bachelors degree and a minimum of five years research experience required. Master’s Degree preferred. Demonstrated expertise in use of statistical/analytical methods and tools, e.g., application of SPSS and/or other statistical software that support research and assessment required. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with higher education database systems, e.g., Oracle or similar inter-relational database systems, data marts, and warehouses in organizing data for production of high quality statistical/analytical tables, charts, graphs required. Knowledge and experience with SCT Banner preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of higher education institutional business practices, processes, operations and data systems preferred.
Demonstrated experience with the design/preparation of research/assessment studies/surveys/reports and presentation of results in a user friendly manner that enhances usefulness of the information and facilitates effective planning, policy development, and performance assessment.

Responsible for institutional reporting to state, federal and regulatory agencies such as: IPEDS , HEIRS , Perkins IV, HEOA Gainful Employment, etc.
Prepares and/or coordinates the preparation of externally required surveys (such as College Board, Peterson etc.) that are standard annual data collection efforts ensuring that released information is accurate and consistent with college’s other reported data.
Coordinate the collection, statistical analysis and interpretation of relevant institutional data and key performance indicators including enrollment, retention, recruiting, marketing, and student trend data.
Serve as a resource for various campus initiatives engaged in assessment and effectiveness; reporting the results of the research pertaining to outcomes assessment, enrollment management, and institutional effectiveness at the College level.
Provide technical guidance and support to departments on the completion of external surveys for various agencies including support for institutional self-study, accreditation, assessment, and program review.
Assist with the administration and analysis of student, alumni, faculty, and staff surveys (both internally developed surveys assigned to IR or major outsourced survey efforts, e.g. CCSSE , SENSE , and Noel-Levitz etc) used to identify and improve organizational and institutional effectiveness.
Coordinate with Information Systems and Services staff to ensure that programming needs are met in service of timely data acquisition and accurate reporting.
Provide data and analysis for grant development and evaluation as required.
Collaborate with senior management and other administrators and departments which rely on institutional data and analysis.
Perform advanced descriptive statistical analysis and data mining activities using available tools ( SPSS , etc.) to interpret results and identify trends.
Develop and validate predictive models for enrollment, retention and graduation. Respond to and anticipate ad-hoc requests from within and outside the College. Supervision of Institutional research staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
