The primary purpose of the Director role is to:
• To provide executive leadership and direction to CPS Energy’s U.S. military account management organization; the JBSA energy solutions team consisting of customer relationship management, construction project management, and energy technical solutions, and
• To ensure CPS Energy provides centralized, coordinated, and high quality customer service for San Antonio’s military bases with a focus on the DoD’s privatization of military installation utilities, and providing technical assistance to the military’s strategic energy management plan and initiatives
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Manages the relationship and strategic partnership with the Military systems
• Participates in system and integration planning
• Serves as customer single point of contact for all local military installations to include: Lackland, Randolph, Ft. Sam, Camp Bullis, Camp Stanley, and Brooke Army Medical Center
• Conducts ongoing joint strategic planning activities between CPS Energy and the local military installations to provide for the coordination, assistance, and recommendations to the military on achieving the goals of their strategic energy management plan
• Monitor and educate CPS Energy team on current developments within military (e.g., Army task force)
• Provide overall Project Management view for construction based activities
• Support military installation third party requirements (e.g., property management) in regards to the energy efficiency and conservation initiatives and goals
• Oversee energy management activities on the military installations ensuring CPS Energy provide timely expert guidance, advice, and assistance
• Oversee military energy audits and assessments
• Oversee JBSA initiatives conducted by JBSA Energy Solutions Manager and Commercial Designers assigned to individual projects
• Insure coordination of any planned outages
• Manage service contracts
• Design, develop and implement processes to enhance customer support for the military customers
• Deliver successful privatization service model for JBSA systems
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field from an accredited University
• Three (3) years experience in utility infrastructure Project Manager Experience in the Dept of Defense (DoD0 or military installations
• Ten (10) or more years experience in a leadership role; engineering related preferred
• Strong track record in developing successful long-term relationships at the management level and with other Company-stakeholders (customers, vendors, regulators, public offices, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers with the highest degree of professionalism, clarity, and diplomacy while being firm as the situation necessitates
• Strong program management skills. Proven ability to manage programs using milestone planning and tracking, work package prioritization, and critical path scheduling
• Overall department/program budget management experience required.
• Process management capability and discipline - process improvement focus; customer satisfaction improvement focus
• Experience in creating , evaluating and responding to technical proposals
• Experience in implementing strategic and/or account management plans
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and incentives
• Ability to lead by example and exhibit the following behavioral attributes:

Preferred Requirements:
• Masters Degree
• Working knowledge of CPS Energy Engineering and Construction standards
• Prior service in a military organization and/or experience providing service/support to military organizations
• Professional experience interfacing with and defining Joint military requirements
