Office of Information Technology

Exempt, Regular, Full-time, Grade I

The Office of Information Technology seeks a Director of PeopleSoft Operations. The Director is responsible for overseeing various day-to-day and strategic tasks involved with the university's PeopleSoft enterprise business and academic systems. Responsibilities include:

Manage the overall engagement and direction among stakeholders, the business, development and technical process

Ensure that sound, best-practice process standards are in place and adhered to

Assist in highly technical programming and infrastructure decisions

Interface and communicate effectively with functional business owners

Manage development of onsite/offshore staff; supervise their completion of assignments; and work to implement new or improved business processes

Determine departmental priorities and assign projects to staff, and escalate issues to management and executive leadership as appropriate

Provide informed and well-reasoned assessments regarding business solutions implemented both with and without PeopleSoft

Analyze and foster implementation/upgrade strategy, plan integration, develop customization, and design interface that best the university, its faculty, staff and students by having technical and conceptual familiarity with tools and technologies both proprietary to PeopleSoft (PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Integration Broker) and by highly leveraging PeopleSoft (Crystal Reports, SQR, Web Services)

Oversee multiple complex enterprise applications and assist with project proposals

Interface with end-user community and stakeholders/constituents to understand and measure business processes to ensure their needs and expectations are being met

Partner with the technical community to ensure that the end user expectations are/can be met via the ERP

Communicate information regarding projects and day-to-day activities such as tasks, status, and issues, critical metrics, and the like to several key audiences: Executive Management, IT departments, Functional Departments, Project Teams, and other stakeholders

Drive ERP deliverables for projects and day-to-day activities from inception through delivery; develop collaborative relationships with user departments and developers, and gain buy-in and acceptance of initiatives

Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required education and experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience implementing and providing solutions in PeopleSoft. Minimum of three (3) years in a senior leadership capacity that includes managing, designing, and implementing ERP products with specific expertise in PeopleSoft required. Must have hands-on experience and strong technical knowledge of PeopleSoft PeopleTools (8.48+), SQL/SQR, PeopleCode, PS system architecture and administration, PS Integration Technologies (Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, Service-Oriented Architecture), and PS Security. Experience in full software development life-cycle practices required. Hands-on experience in managing offshore development models is required. Experience working in a large sized organization leading a business unit supporting PS applications including upgrades, patches, and new releases required. Excellent communication, conflict management, and contractor/resource management skills is required.
