The Director, Live Event Acquisitions will be responsible for developing and overseeing new original and live Sports programming.
Identify and acquire new programming to achieve subscriber and revenue goals.
Implement acquisitions strategies, policies, and budget.
Collaborate with SVP to complete negotiations with major content providers.
Target potential acquisitions and prepares recommendations and strategies.
Implement the specifications and features for new programming and ensure adherence to programming standards and policies.
Meet with various content providers to evaluate proposals and manage full process of standard contract negotiations.
Manage programming budgets and collaborate with Accounting and Finance departments to discuss accounting implications of network activities.
Utilize key metrics to coordinate a formal evaluation process of new programming acquisitions.
Direct a team that identifies, researches, and supports acquisition deals.
Assist in establishing key metrics to continually evaluate performance of new programming acquisitions.
Negotiate with national program suppliers to acquire affiliations for programming content.
Oversee the research, evaluation, and acquisition of new programming and associated services.
Minimum seven (7) years live Television Sports programming experience
Experience in the day to day programming and production of remote sports events.
Proven track record and experience in Sports Cable television rights acquisitions, programming, production, and scheduling with a strong knowledge of Sports network operations
Must be a team player
Must be a self-starter, assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated leader
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of entertainment and sports programming landscape
Strong understanding of sports programming deals
