The incumbent is accountable for directing the Service Area EHR functions to enhance the delivery of patient care through education, role modeling, quality improvement, program development and coordination, as necessary.
The incumbents focus is to support EHR optimization. It consists of three primary components.
The first component is to ensure the provision of EHR training to hospital staff and physicians. The incumbent will direct the training for implementation, ongoing support for orientation of new hires within the hospital, and training for software enhancements and upgrades The incumbent will maintain frequent contact with all levels of staff to identify needs for education and training as well as identifying patterns that indicate more global problems.
The second component of the job will direct the monitoring of the usability of computer devices on each unit in coordination with Dignity Health-IT. The incumbent will direct the assistance of managers and staff to follow-up on new or on-going problems
The third component, the incumbent will ensure the CI staff is flexible based on the needs of EHR. Some of these needs will include offering education pertaining to changes in EHR and improving communication between departments
This is a Service Area position reporting to the Vice President Patient Services (CNE) at St, Elizabeth Community Hospital and will have Clinical Informaticist and CI Liaisons reporting to it.
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
Current CA RN licensure in good standing
Previous experience with EHR
Three yrs. experience in a hospital setting involving patient care or ancillary support.
Expertise with computer applications in a Windows-based environment.
Clinical knowledge in nursing & ancillary department workflow. Understanding of electronic healthcare systems. Ability to learn and teach clinical IT systems staff development and needs.

Previous experience on Cerner EHR
Three yrs. experience as a Clinical Informaticist. Previous management or leadership position experience.
