Summary of Responsibilities:
Manage a team of sales training and development staff. Develop and implement training and education programs to better develop sales staff in enhancing sales techniques, communications skills, management skills and product knowledge. Assess sales and management training and development needs, including technical and managerial competency training, performance assessment, management utilization, assessment and development, and long-term planning for training needs.
Cultivate partnerships with sales force at all levels. Coach and develop Sales Leadership in effective coaching of their teams in the sales process. Coach Sales Managers speaking to the language of sales to effectively coach their Sales Advisors. Maintain continuous follow-up with team post Sales Training. This position will also focus on development support for core Individual Distribution initiatives as well as lead the development opportunities tied to future talent planning.
Lead and support the strategic efforts in the design, development, implementation and management of learning solutions for the Firm Leadership and Management team members within Individual Distribution.
Provide onboarding, development strategy and executive coaching services to the Managing Director, Managing Partner, and Market Leader population as well as Regional Managing Directors in the MetLife Resources channel.
Cultivate partnerships with the field and Business Partners at all levels.
Build relationships throughout MetLife’s Learning Organization in order to leverage synergies and best practices as well as tools and resources.
In partnership with HR Business Partner, provide insight on learning solutions, performance management, and change management to gain insight on the businesses’ strategies and corresponding Learning and Development needs.
Provide strong expertise and direction to team in end-to-end learning lifecycle, including strong emphasis on evaluation and measuring impact.
Prepare and manage a team budget. Seek and obtain funding approval, allocation of resources, and control costs against budget.
Manage large scale projects, leading and contributing to as well as directing and coaching others with competing/changing deadlines.
Facilitate senior level learning sessions; plan for and facilitate senior management meetings as well as facilitate discussions around talent needs within Individual Distribution
Perform other duties as required.
10+ years relevant experience in Training, Development, and Coaching in a sales environment
Experience with learning technology tools (e-learning tools, LMS systems, webinars, website content design and maintenance) in order to provide the best strategic guidance on ways to utilize these tools.
This position requires 60-80% travel.
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, HR or a related discipline
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt style of communication based on audience as well as work with individuals at all levels within MetLife.
Ability to lead complex projects while multi-tasking and delivering projects within a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience in full people management responsibilities including hiring, promotions, performance and compensation management, as well as training and development
Master's degree preferred
