As the Director of Social Media Strategy, you must be an inspirational, confident and digital savvy leader that can pave the way for success for clients and the agency alike. You will be responsible for outlining strategies and social media best practices. A proven track record in implementing cross channel campaigns incorporating mobile and web is essential for this position. The Director of Social Media Strategy will oversee social campaigns from conception to completion and work closely with the VP of Strategy to ensure that high quality work is produced in a timely manner to achieve client goals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research to gain an understanding of the target audience and apply insights to strategy development
Evaluate and monitor the competition – keep track of leading social media campaigns and develop best practices
Contribute and lead new business pitches
Identify strategic solutions to solve marketing problems that meet/exceed client objectives
Educate internal teams as to what the client’s marketing objectives are and collaborate with various departments to determine long and short term strategies for marketing campaigns that ensure consistency throughout all media
Track and analyze social media campaign performance
Actively seek ways to optimize client campaigns and identify key growth areas
Regularly contribute to agency publications (blogs, etc…) with thought pieces and relevant industry commentary
Represent the agency at events as necessary
Stay ahead of social and emerging media industry trends
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8+ years working in an advertising or media agency working on heavily on interactive based accounts, with a few years of specifically working with social media
Proven track record producing social and emerging media campaigns on a global scale
Ability to develop C level relationships
Thrives in a fast-paced environment working on multiple accounts
Comprehensive background in mobile, web development/design and several social media platforms
Excellent oral, written, negotiation and analytical skills
Extremely passionate about digital media
Ability to problem-solve and manage a team
True “team player” mindset
Global consumer goods, entertainment, or pharma experience (major plus!)
Must be willing to travel
