Job Summary

Accountable for creating and implementing compliance strategy for the Supply Chain organization. Reports to Compliance Officer with a dotted line into the SVP, Distribution.

Job Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the enterprise-wide supply chain compliance strategic plan comprehending environmental, food, drug, and safety integrity. Performs periodic reviews to insure the strategic goals are being met. Identifies and implements strategies to resolve problems or barriers that could hinder the successful execution of the supply chain compliance activities. Provide the leadership to engage the business segment leaders in the supply chain compliance process to ensure strategic objectives are understood and deliver anticipated results.
Provides proactive leadership, motivates team members, and ensures the right tools and resources are in place for success. Fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace, promotes training and development opportunities, and establishes performance management processes including identifying metrics to measure the performance for the team and individual members. Mentors team members in developing collaborative working relationships with business segment leaders to develop business-oriented solutions for complex compliance problems.
Develops and implements compliance strategy for the Supply Chain organization. Ensures strategic objectives are realized by creating actionable goals/plans to be enacted and implemented throughout the division. Develops processes, procedures and policies and implements for use. Ensures all implemented process and procedures are adhered to and any non-adherence is handled accordingly.
Develops, recommends and implements programs designed to enhance and improve all safety, OSHA, EPA, DEA and FDA compliance. Ensures Supply Chain – wide awareness and understanding of all pertinent laws and regulations.
Develops and maintains a robust working relationship with government, law enforcement and industry organizations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DEA, FDA, etc.)
Collaborates with Director of Pharmaceutical Integrity on Rx distribution and dispensing integrity, as well as other division senior management to direct supply chain compliance issues to the appropriate existing channel for investigation and resolution. Consults with the corporate legal staff to resolve difficult legal supply compliance issues. Collaborates with and provides direction as the liaison with other departments (e.g., Legal, Government Affairs, Loss Prevention, IT, etc.) in order to meet the needs of the department and the Company’s objectives.
Directs and coordinates audits and will conducts unique investigations involving safety violations, environmental hazards, controlled substances, etc. Advises and counsels executives and others in related matters and issues impacting or potentially impacting the Company.
Accountable for collaborating with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and provides direction as the liaison in order to meet the needs of the SC organization and the Company’s objectives.
Manage department budget and maintain cost controls.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of experience in pharmacy operations, operations, compliance, loss prevention, and/or drug investigation/diversion.
Experience using trend analysis to create and evaluate strategic options and opportunities.
Experience leading the development and implementation of short and long term plans.
Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet company and department goals within established timelines.
Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.
Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
At least 5 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
Willing to travel at least 30% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or MBA
