Ashley Furniture is seeking a Director of Warehouse Operations in our NEW Advance, NC facility.
Required Experience:
10 years’ experience in the industry and 5-8 years directing warehouse mgmt teams
Necessary Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of:
WMS and other related software
Facility planning and design
Ordinance related to operating warehouse facility
Equipment sourcing and justification
Budget and finance statement
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools
Skills & Abilities:
Strong negotiation skills
Proficient in WMS, MS Office, Internet, AS400
Lead and direct others to generate expected results
Management of resources to optimize: equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials
Remain current in business trends and new technologies for specified area of the organization
Effectively manage annual budget across multiple distribution centers
Maintain confidentiality
Essential Functions:
Direct activities of warehouse superintendents, supervisor, and other associated administrative personnel in order to monitor and control product flow and inventory management in all distribution centers.
Maintain and improve measurements of warehousing costs and efficiencies related to overhead, labor, maintenance, facilities, equipment, and related expenses.
Short and long-term capacity planning associated with staffing, schedules, equipment, and space to receive, store, and ship products to customers as well as other distribution centers. Strategize with CEO, Product Planning, ADS, and manufacturing to plan product flow and additional facilites to support the growth of the company.
Manage lean initiatives associated with warehouse and share these best practices throughout the organization.
