The Product Management Director will execute the product strategy as defined by the VP, New product Development and manage new product development across the Company’s five Latin American markets (Chile, Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia) as necessary to meet the new product goals and objectives set for the program and each of those markets.
The Director will ensure that products follow leading practices for product lifecycle management, including product development, product marketing, sales, operations and customer support.
The incumbent is responsible for the documentation for each product as well as the technical, operational, administrative and sales training.
The Director will provide leadership, guidance and assistance to each market regarding budgeting, sales goals and metrics related to the released products.
This position will interface externally with customers and contractors.
The incumbent will be a forward thinker who identifies and develops business strategies that will address sustained organic growth within the new products development team.
This position provides regular reporting and management of product cycle and release times within predetermined guidelines to Latin America senior managers.
The Director will work strategically with regional management to integrate each new product within corporate wide systems to create an efficient workforce that can respond to any routine or emergency situation that requires service restoration of customer or American Tower systems. Current and future products include, but not limited to, iDAS, oDAS, WiFi, Colo Hut and Fiber solutions.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide support to the VP, Product Development by leading the execution of defined strategies including the approaches, processes and systems for the successful capture of specified market share of each new product within the Latin American regions
Provide support to the VP, Product Development by assisting with current and future technology trends and analysis
Provide lifecycle management for each released product including release management
Provide product documentation including technical, operational, administrative and sales/marketing processes
Provide product training for sales, operations and administration
Ensure financial models are created for each product and integrated into the sales process for deal evaluation
Oversee daily operations of the regional New Product Development team members while maintaining focus on division’s strategic goals and objectives
Define requirements for new products and work with IT to implement software and systems to support process improvement
Provide strategy and guidance to ensure organizational model supports successful rollout and support of new products
Manage product records within company document management systems as well as the delivery of documents to internal team members and external customers.
Act as product management liaison with other divisions within the company to support business development and international projects.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team member and external customers
Work closely with engineering to incorporate new technologies and methods into the new product processes
Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party service providers in support of the product management organization
Works with customers to collectively solve system issues and continuously improve service levels
Prepares annual operations budgets and manages and tracks financial performance against budget
Supports and manages the ongoing operations of company owned assets as related to new products
Oversee all new product team decisions, to include; recruitment, training, supervision, establishment of performance goals and quarterly reviews for the team
OTHER:

Must possess technical, operational and marketing background related to wireless products
Must be comfortable working with multiple parties, internally and externally, to collectively solve system issues and continuously improve service levels.
Must have experience preparing annual budgets, managing and tracking financial performance against budget.
Demonstrated ability to work credibly and collaboratively with cross functional management teams to resolve issues
Ability to form key partnerships with both the regional and corporate management teams
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Five-year technical or business degree required
Five to ten years experience managing direct reports in a process oriented environment required
Five to ten years experience in product management or wireless industry required
Experience with collocation, legal, engineering or real estate acquisition processes preferred
Two years technical record processing, project management, or process oriented industry required
Experience in supervising a team in different geographic locations and time zones preferred
ENVIRONMENT:
Approximately 90% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 10% performed in outdoor environment evaluating or supervising new product
systems. Approximately 40% international and domestic travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
