The Global Fund Investment (“GFI”) team is seeking a Director level investment professional to help facilitate consistent progress in the implementation of the GFI investment strategy. This position will report to the head of GFI and be located in the Springfield, MA office.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the growth and development of the Global Fund Investment (“GFI”) platform, including:
    • The analysis of primary and secondary private equity fund investment targets
    • Due diligence of equity co-investment opportunities with core private equity sponsor relationships
    • Research and communication of findings on developing alternative private equity strategies
    • Development and maintenance of portfolio analytics, including investment models
    • Production of quarterly reporting requirements for our clients
    • Assistance in the implementation of strategic growth initiatives
  • Candidate will be an integral member of the GFI team, engaged in all staff activities and working with senior members of the team in the underwriting and analysis of new investments
  • Candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the GFI business and be able to articulate that knowledge internally and externally
  • Candidate will interact with investment professionals across Babson Capital’s Global Private Finance Group
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory; Graduate business degree and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation strongly preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience researching or underwriting, negotiating and managing private equity funds and direct debt or equity co-investments in alternative investment strategies such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture or natural resources
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with high-level executives and investors
  • Strong corporate finance analytical skills
  • Developed verbal and written communications skills
  • High degree of proficiency with various software including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point and Outlook
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (domestically and internationally) on job-related matters.
