Onondaga Community College is seeking an IT Director of Enterprise Infrastructure. This position is responsible for planning, managing and supervising core network infrastructure. This position provides quality and responsive end user support to Onondaga employees and students for enterprise infrastructure including wired and wireless networks, data center, internet services, consulting and managed services, enterprise security, VoIP, business continuity, wiring, fiber, server and desktop virtualization, enterprise storage, server administration and all level two technical support. This position is an on call position.
Supervise specialty teams assigned to organizational areas. Manage and prioritize projects, work assignments and staff resources, change control, incident management and staff development. Manage employee actions including job definition, hiring, cross training, performance appraisals, promotions and disciplinary actions. Manage scheduling and after hours coverage.
End User Support and Communication:
Design, build, deploy and support core infrastructure technology. Serve as primary level two IT technical support. Develop and manage area specific projects and work assignments including network and server environment, enterprise security, internet services, consultants and managed services, system documentation and monitoring, email systems, assignment and resolution of issues, training and escalation. Develop and maintain written and online technical training guides and procedures for core technology support areas.
Planning, Management and Administration:
Plan, coordinate and manage IT area specific and institutional strategic projects. Provide vision and direction, implement innovative problem solving and continuous improvement; anticipate future needs relative to higher education and IT industry trends. Develop, implement and manage annual IT operational plan and other operational and strategic initiatives as assigned by the CIO . Develop, track and manage lifecycle technology plan and budget. Plan, conduct and manage IT and end user area meetings, training and technical sessions. Assist with overall management of IT department activities as needed.
5 – 10 years in an IT technical leadership and management role, including experience in supervising an enterprise computing operation.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
Masters degree preferred
