SUNY Oneonta invites applications for the position of Director, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center. Expectations are to provide leadership in addressing issues of genders and sexualities for both students and employees, serve as the director of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC), and work with other campus constituents to address campus policies and evaluate the effects on students and employees. The director will assist with exploring ways to attract and retain students, faculty and staff who bring diversity to the College. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college with 6,000 students and 1,200 employees. Duties include but not limited to: overseeing the GSRC, including supervision of student staff and coordination of interns, managing budget, developing short and long-term goals; providing leadership and advocacy in the campus community regarding genders and sexualities; continuing and developing programming in collaboration with faculty and other departments; participating in the campus’s efforts to address issues of equity and inclusion across the broadest definition of diversity; providing training and outreach to current students and employees; providing information and outreach to candidates for faculty and professional positions and with newly hired faculty.
Requirements: Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree; 5 years of post-baccalaureate professional experience working with issues of gender and sexuality.
Preferred: experience working with issues of genders and sexualities in higher education; administrative experience in higher education; experience with conducting training using a major diversity model; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
