Title: Director of Accounting

Position Overview

If you are a sharp accounting professional with entertainment, media, and / or advertising experience then this is a great opportunity dfor you!

The Director of Accounting is responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, managing the payroll administration and purchasing, maintaining accounts payable and managing accounting operations.


Oversee the daily accounting activities required to maintain general ledger

Establish working procedures and process for accounting personnel

Review monthly adjusting journal entries

Produce quarterly and annual SEC reports (10K, 10Q, etc.)

Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities

Assist in preparation of monthly management financial statement

Oversee closings and consolidations

Supervise, direct, and review the work of A/R, A/P, and Payroll

Support annual budget development process

Account Analysis and related schedules to support

Work effectively with all Viggle staff to insure proper adherence to all accounting functions

Other duties as assigned

Position reports to Controller


Experience in the Media, Entertainment, and / or Advertising Industry is required

10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience

Certified Public Accountant; Bachelor’s Degree

Strong understanding Accounting procedures and application to business issues

Experience in SEC reporting

Ability to analyze situations within policy and legal frameworks

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

Willingness to make decisions as necessary and appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures

Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office, NetSuite, and Adaptive Planning

Strong operating unit experience

Exceptional analytical and financial analysis skills

People management experience

Exceptional communication skills with ability to present analysis and findings in both verbal and written formats to all levels of management and size of group

Small company / Start-up experience essential

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information and professionalism at all times
