The position requires (1) at least a Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of prior-related work experience, or (2) at least a Master's degree and at least seven years of prior-related work experience.
Substitution of Experience for Education Permitted (Non-faculty only)
The position is responsible for the security, integrity, programming, disaster recovery planning and management of all server systems and central data processing for the college. In addition, the position is responsible for all computing platforms and services.
Prefer applicants with: (1) at least seven years experience in Colleague, (2) at least seven years supervisory experience in higher education, (3) a minimum of seven years of prior project management experience and (6) PMP or Certificate in Project Management.

Internal applicants are considered to be: (1) full-time employees in a regular status of Hillsborough Community College who have been in their current position for at least one year or (2) an employee of Hillsborough Community College in a full-time temporary status, who immediately prior was in a full-time regular position for at least one year. The Director is responsible for the development and maintenance of a complex technological infrastructure within an academic environment. Successful integration of security, legislative and academic requirements requires an individual who is sensitive to the needs of all end users, including those unique and sometimes conflicting needs of academic programs and administrative requirements. The Director must be responsive to the needs of all groups within the institution, yet provide the necessary leadership to establish policies and practices that are within the limits established by legislative and procedural requirements. Excellent communication skills are a must.
