Since 1983, Brynn Marr Hospital has specialized in quality
behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults and
senior adults through a comprehensive, integrated system of inpatient
treatment and residential programs. Our purpose is to offer caring,
effective behavioral health services for children, adolescents,
adults and senior adults throughout North Carolina who suffer from
mental illness, chemical dependency or developmental disability.
The Director of Admissions is responsible for the patient intake
process; implementing, monitoring, and evaluating that process.
This includes responsibility for all patient intake calls; providing
information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional
staff (i.e., physicians, consulting professionals) requesting
information regarding potential admissions, developing and/or
maintaining relationships with ongoing sources of referral to
alternative treatment sources when appropriate. In addition,
provide assessments for patient admissions.
Education: Masters degree from an accredited university in a
clinical area, such as counseling, social work or RN licensure from
an accredited school and at least five years experience in the mental
health field preferred.
Experience: Clinical experience in psychiatric setting;
situational evaluation and crisis prevention experience
License/Certification: Independently Licensed Clinician or
Skills: Superior communication skills, high level of initiative,
motivation, independent judgment and organizational skills.
Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.
Physical Requirements: High demand, mentally. Requires
extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on the telephone.
Other: Ability to assist in crisis intervention, physical
intervention with out of control patients.
