This position is in the Campus Labs division, in Buffalo, NY. The Campus Labs team works closely with colleges and universities using data- focused tools to impact student success and engagement as well as to streamline and improve assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts.

Head of Analytics

The position is responsible for the success of all functions related to the Campus Labs integrated products for data analytics and reporting. The Head of Analytics will set, manage, and provide leadership for goals that are aligned with the broader Campus Labs product offerings. Additionally, the role will collaborate with other units within the organization to ensure that company strategies and operations are carried out efficiently and effectively. The position reports to the Vice President, Product Management for Campus Labs.

Responsibilities

Set technology goals, roadmaps, and timelines for the forward development of the Campus Labs products for analytics.

Work closely with a team of programmers in an agile development setting.

Stay abreast of higher education and industry trends in order to set appropriate strategies and guide the continued progress of all analytics and reporting products and programs.

Develop blogs, white papers, online resources, or conference presentations that address industry trends and aid in the support of member campuses.

Work closely with the implementation team to ensure that that processes run smoothly, effectively, and in a way that meets client needs and promotes high levels of positive interaction and product adoption.

Interface on a regular basis with the campus support team to ensure the timely support and resolution of any campus issues or challenges.

Interface on a regular basis with other product owners to ensure the ongoing integration of product features and organization processes that represent a holistic approach to connecting the Campus Labs toolset.

Provide support for the Campus Relations team for training, product presentations, and meetings with campus administrators.

Assist the Vice President of Product Development with projects as assigned.

Skills, Experience, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics

Through a minimum of three-five years experiences in higher education, preferably with responsibilities related to institutional effectiveness, one should possess the following skills and characteristics:

An advanced understanding of the complexities of higher education.

Proven ability to analyze data and understanding of analytics.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to summarize and present complex ideas to varied audiences and constituents.

Executive presence and the ability to interact with senior on-campus administrators and leadership within the company.

Ability to organize priorities to ensure the achievement of goals and objectives.

Ability to bring individual strengths to the role, while also working effectively with others in a group setting and serving as a role model to employees.

Enthusiastic, pro-active, and able to champion change and innovation.

Ability to take risks, seek new insights, and keep an open mind.

Ability to navigate unforeseen obstacles and to change tactics quickly as necessary.

A proven commitment to obtain new knowledge and expertise through continuing education and ongoing quest for new challenges and experiences.

Ability to travel to up to 20%

Education

A Master’s Degree is required.

This position is located in Buffalo, NY and cannot be accomplished remotely from another location.
