The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a Director of Aquatic Training to lead aquatic trainings, develop systems of accountability and manage all aquatic staff certifications, and to perform all lifeguard audits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director will lead Association-wide aquatic certification & re-certification classes to include lifeguard classes, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration. Other specific duties include managing branch certification reports; working with Aquatic Directors on an on-going basis to ensure staff maintains proper and current certification; and responsibility for all aspects of lifeguard audit process, ensuring compliance by performing regular audits of branch certification documents to ensure proper documentation is present for all staff at all times. The Director will also provide leadership to aquatic safety initiatives by designing and managing programs and calendars for staff training, ongoing evaluation, ongoing in-service training, and recertification; lead quarterly Association wide in-service trainings; and maintain open communication with Aquatic Directors regarding upcoming trainings and staff certification needs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of one year aquatics experience required. Prior experience leading trainings required. Strong communication, project management skills and multitasking skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Must have current YMCA/Red Cross/Ellis Lifeguard certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Oxygen Administration, First Aid and YMCA/Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certifications.

Salary: $35,000 - $35,000

Additional Compensation Details:

Actual salary depends upon experience and qualifications. Benefits include complimentary family metro-wide Y membership, medical, dental and 12 percent employer-paid retirement, upon vesting.
