Reporting to the Vice President for Alumni Relations, the Director of Communities will provide strategic vision and leadership for alumni outreach programs at Dartmouth; this includes a network of 90+ regional alumni clubs and nine+ affiliated/shared interest groups. The key charge of the Director will be to take a thriving portfolio of alumni programs at Dartmouth to the next level of excellence through best practices and an integrated platform for strategic outreach involving club events, special events, international engagement and effective volunteer management. Through the creation of new or enhanced strategic outreach initiatives, identifying important alumni communities, the Director will expand and augment meaningful and compelling connections between Dartmouth College and alumni and alumni with each other.

Proven ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate with alumni volunteers and colleagues; strong conflict resolution skills Willingness to travel, work nights and weekends. Budget development and financial management Understanding of information technology and emerging communication tools, strong computer skills Note: Employment will be contingent upon possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license and continued qualification as an Approved Driver under the Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.
10 years of relevant program development /administration experience; or the equivalent. At least 4 years of experience in Alumni Relations; or the equivalent Extensive volunteer management experience
