The Director of Corporate Communications is responsible for the managing and developing communication strategies to further the organization’s overall goals. In addition, this individual must have the capacity and professionalism to partner with all levels of management to ensure consistent messaging. This individual will also act a strategic business partner with an established record of accomplishments developing, directing, producing, and coordinating communication plans.
Develop, manage, and evaluate internal communications for assigned business units, designed to provide employees with consistent, timely and in-depth updates on the business including Intranet, email announcements, newsletters, blogs, webcasts / podcasts, meetings, and presentations aimed at educating employees about strategy, business news, and results while supporting the Golfsmith International brand.
Communicate the mission and main themes to the workforce in an engaging and compelling way, connecting the dots for the workforce.
Provide executive and senior leadership communication support in mapping business unit strategy and actions to enterprise strategic plans and objectives.
Partners with Executive and Senior Leadership team on dissemination of information via newsletters, email, blogs, or other social media or intranet sites.
Serves as a resource to leaders in a consulting role to review their communication methods, styles, and messages.
Strong Project Management skills, expert knowledge of Word, Power point, and Excel.
Proficient knowledge of layout design, video and audio production, and image editing is also expected, along with experience using a content management system and Web and HTML publishing tools.
Evaluates and measures the success of internal communication.
College degree in Journalism, Digital Media, Communications or related field
7+ years experience in delivering best practice internal communications as a manager or consultant.
Ability to multi-task and easily adapt communications strategy to current business climate.
Strong organizational, project leadership, and time management skills
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communications skills, including superior editing and proofreading abilities.
Must be able to work well in a team environment and also independently
Proven analytical and problem solving ability
Strong PC skills
Excellent follow through

Must be assertive and eager to grow in an extremely fast paced organization
Knowledge and passion for the game of golf or tennis preferred
