Institution: University of Northern Colorado Location: Greeley, CO Category: Admin - Public Relations, Marketing and Communications Posted: 07/19/2013 Application Due: Open Until Filled Type: Full Time Job Summary/Basic Functions The Director of Creative Services advances and integrates the University of Northern Colorado brand and visual identity across the university. The position reports to the Vice President of University Relations and works closely in a team environment with the Associate Vice President for Marketing, Director of Web Communications, Director of News and Public Relations, and unit-specific marketing personnel throughout the university. The Director of Creative Services leads and manages a capable Creative Services department including graphic and web designers, photographer, videographer, and writer/editor. The Director of Creative Services takes a big picture view of the university and consistently develops and implements new and innovative ideas while assuring that they are integrated throughout the institution and support the achievement of UNC's marketing and communications objectives.

Since fast-paced and large volumes of work are the norm for the creative department, the director must be able to continually innovate and bring imaginative thinking to the university's brand on a day-to-day basis. The Director of Creative Services leads the university in the creation of highly visible and successful marketing and communications initiatives that result in: a) Increased awareness of UNC b) Increased understanding of UNC c) Increased engagement with UNC The university's Marketing and Communications Plan, based on its strategic planning process, informs the priorities and decisions of this position. On a creative level, the long term evolution and advancement of the university's brand is an essential objective of this position. The brand includes the visual identity, university messaging and the general tone of all collateral.

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in design, advertising, fine art, marketing or related field preferred. Six or more years of relevant job experience required including work in an agency setting with emphasis in brand development. Hands-on graphic design experience in digital and print mediums. In-depth knowledge of Adobe design software and Apple computer systems.

Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges.
