Director of D6 Children's Ministry, Munger Place Church

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing Christian education program for children from birth through fifth grade, including Sunday morning programs, mid-week programming, Vacation Bible School and others.

Responsibilities include:
Influence and lead children and their families to Jesus Christ.

Develop and direct Sunday School program, including curriculum, activities, and volunteer staffing. Sunday morning presence required weekly.

Recruit, train and develop volunteers as teachers and lay leaders within church guidelines.

Provide leadership to D6 Munger staff and programming, and represent the ministry within and outside of the church.

Manage all administrative aspects of Children's Ministry department, such as budget, records, communications, mailings, etc.

Recruit, hire, schedule, manage and train paid, part-time Nursery and Preschool Caregiver staff.

Work closely with the Munger Place leadership team for overall leadership of the church. Ensure close communication with the Director of Youth Ministry to ensure seamless service to Munger families transitioning from Children's to Youth.

Qualifications: Must be a Christian (preferably United Methodist) committed to living a life that becomes the Gospel and who has the following qualifications:

College degree in a related field required

Seminary and/or intensive Bible training preferred

At least 5 years experience in Children's Ministry as church staff or lay leader

Supervisory experience required

Proficient in use and understanding of technology such as Microsoft Office applications, email, Internet and social media

Excellent organizational and communication, with a high degree of initiative and accountability

Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills, with sensitivity to church members and visitors

Familiarity with United Methodist doctrine; must be comfortable working in a United Methodist church environment and representing the church

Understands and enjoys children and families and guiding their spiritual development

Hours: This is a full-time position working full days Monday - Thursday, as well as every Sunday 8 a.m. - 12 noon, and occasional evenings or weekends as necessary for events, meetings, etc.
