In a triad relationship with the Physician Department Head and the Director of Emergency Medicine, this position is responsible for leading Regions Emergency Medicine Practice and Finance for the department.
The three primary leadership accountabilities for this position include:
Financial Management: Responsible for directing financial performance for the Emergency Department including Emergency Medicine physician practices through business analysis, budget management, project management, business office operations (coding, billing, reimbursement), and computer/data analysis. This included strategic financial leadership to support improved financial performance by establishing measures, to improve revenue, productivity, efficiency and total cost of care.
Physician Practice Operations: Provide leadership in performance improvement at an organizational, department, process and individual level. Direct all aspects of major projects and/or multiple mid-sized projects in support of organizational strategic goals. Provide expertise and facilitate development of standardized approaches to creating departmental performance improvement plans, defining appropriate aims and measures, analyzing and interpreting data, managing change and facilitating improvement teams. Mentors individuals and teams in improvement methods, project management, change management, group dynamics and planning methods. Select and implement solutions and develop appropriate monitor & control plans to ensure implementation and hardwired change.
Valley Emergency Medicine Leadership: Key administrative lead across out-state emergency medicine locations including, but not limited to, Stillwater, St. Croix Falls, Hudson, New Richmond, Amery, Osceola and other new locations.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field required. Seven (7) years leadership experience in healthcare finance, management, operations or related field including leadership experience in physician practice management.
