LogMeIn seeks a seasoned Director of Events to lead all marketing-driven events, including trade shows, webinars, and meetups. The Director of Events works across multiple internal groups and geographies to develop an event calendar and plans. This position reports to the VP Marketing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop the global event and trade show strategy working with cross-functional teams.
Work as a service provider to a wide assortment of corporate clients.
Engage internal stakeholders who can utilize events and trade shows to develop their business.
Identify research and evaluate potential event opportunities against business goals and determine appropriate fit.
Create a comprehensive events calendar
Develop an integrated marketing plan for each event and communicate to cross-functional teams and event staff.
Execute multiple events and trade shows.
Implement and execute on all related marketing activities at each event.
Establish strategic direction of each event, trade show and promotion, setting goals and business analytics to determine success.
Determine optimal resource plan, managing outside agency relationships and leading internal resources groups.
Work with global team to establish event best practices.
Accurately track large budget and determine appropriate ROI and ROO for all events to meet business goals and objectives.
Make recommendations on cost savings, determine and initiate RFP when appropriate, vendor negotiation and management.
Maximize the impact at each event to get the best ROI/ROO.
Manage and understand union fees in the U.S and best-practices on shipping, labor and materials handling or drayage
Develop strong relationships with event, trade show and promotional partners and vendors.
Establish best practices on messaging hierarchy and most appropriate way to implement in and around an event.
Set messages and direction for event related marketing and promotions (i.e. direct mail, sponsorship, telemarketing, PR, advertising and other marketing activities).
Manage, hire and develop staff of event marketing professionals.
7+ years marketing event and trade show experience
CMM (Certified Meeting Planner) or other event industry certifications a plus
Experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams
Proven track record in delivering excellent events and trade shows
Strong project management skills
Must be calm under pressure – capable overcoming issues as they arise
Excellent budgeting and financial management skills
Ability to innovate and solve problems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
Ability to travel between 20-30% of time
